Agricultural policy and food minister of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk and Czech minister for agriculture Peter Bendl agreed to strengthen cooperation in the bio-energy and hop-growing areas during a working meeting on May 23, 2013, reads a report that the Ukrainian Ministry issued on Thursday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The report says that the Czech Republic also expressed its interest in the increase of grain supplies and products made of grain from Ukraine.

“Ukraine is interested in cooperation with the Czech Republic, particularly, in the sectors of biofuel, bio-energy and hop-growing, because these directions are very developed in the Czech Republic. We’re ready to support the cooperation,” reads the press release, citing Prysiazhniuk.

In turn, Bendl confirmed the readiness of the Czech Republic to share its experience in the sectors and pointed to plans for cooperation with the veterinary service of Ukraine on the quality of foodstuffs.

“We’re exporting hop to Ukraine and we want to strengthen our positions on your market. The same with biofuel, as the Czech Republic has a large experience in operating biogas plants,” he said.
