Decisions, adopted at the 22nd session of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Ukrainian commission for trade and economic cooperation, will help to eliminate problems of Ukrainian business in Belarus in the near future, first vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov said during a press conference held after the meeting.

He noted that meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission allow most effectively address the problematic issues between the two countries.

"We found mutual understanding in many issues, even not quite simple. After all, first we must protect the interests of business of our country and respect the wishes of our citizens," Arbuzov noted.

Arbuzov added that the Ukrainian-Belarusian relations are at a very high level. This is confirmed by the figures - the bilateral trade turnover in 2012 reached $ 7.5 billion and compared with the year 2011 it grew by 18%.

First vice Prime Minister is convinced that the future relations between Ukraine and Belarus will only develop. This is especially true of trade and economic sphere. So, when asked about a great number of Belarusian goods in our country, Arbuzov said: "I'd like our products, in particular confectionery and brewing, to be represented in Belarus as well as Belarusian products are presented on the market of Ukraine".
 
In turn, first vice Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko praised the results of the committee meeting and stressed that Belarus is interested in further development of cooperation.

Protocol of the Commission session, which the parties signed today, will contribute to relations development as it takes into account positions of Ukraine and Belarus on all relevant issues. In addition, signing of the agreement on interregional and cross-border cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus is also important.
