Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in Dnipropetrovsk took part in the ceremony of laying a capsule of sports and entertainment arena for holding finals of the European Basketball Championship in 2015, President’s press office informs.
The President said that this year, like last, is indicative for Ukraine in matters of sport.
"We successfully held Euro 2012, showed successful results at the London Olympics and Paralympics. Year 2013 is also a kind of test for Ukraine, as this year our state will participate in the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, European Championship in Athletics," Yanukovych said.
"This kind of examination and preparation for the EuroBasket in 2015," he said.
As vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul informed, funding for all the works on construction of the sports arena is already provided. According to him, completion of construction is planned by end of next year.
