Foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara is confident in granting Petrykivsky painting the status of intangible cultural heritage of humanity in December by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the press service of the Foreign Ministry informs.

"I am confident that Petrykivsky painting will get the status of an element of intangible heritage of humanity and deservedly take its rightful place in the treasury of the world cultural heritage," Kozhara said during a working visit to Dnipropetrovsk region.
 

 
Such a decision by the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity is expected in December in Baku.

During a meeting with the creative team and the students of Dnipropetrovsk Theater and Arts College, minister praised their work on the preservation and development of Ukrainian folk traditions of Petrykivsky painting and visited the college, where learned about the technique of creating a unique painting.
