The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has welcomed the European Commission's decision to recommend that the EU Council sign the Association Agreement with Ukraine, the ministry's information policy department has reported, Ukrinform reports.

"The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry welcomes the European Commission's decision of May 15, 2013 to recommend that the EU Council sign the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, as well as to allow its provisional application until the completion of ratification procedures by EU member states. It is an important step towards the completion of all procedures needed to ensure the signing of the agreement during the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius in November," reads the statement.

The department also reported that the Ukrainian side is directing the necessary efforts to implement the agreements reached after the sixteenth EU-Ukraine summit in order to ensure the signing of the agreement in due time.
