Ukraine and the EU are set to achieve success at the summit of "Eastern Partnership" and to apply every effort for the signing of the Association Agreement. This was discussed at the meeting in Brussels between the first vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Füle.
According to the Cabinet’s press office, referring to the press service of the first vice-premier, Arbuzov and Füle discussed progress in Ukraine's implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of Ukraine and the EU during the summit on February 25. First vice Prime Minister reported on the progress of reforms in the economic and financial sector, in particular in the context of the reform of public financial management, measures to improve the business climate.
In addition, the parties exchanged views on the influence of the future creation of the free trade area with the EU on the macro-economic situation in Ukraine. Given the magnitude of the upcoming changes, Arbuzov drew attention of the Commissioner to the need to begin in the near future consultation on the consolidation of resources to support Ukraine in implementing the provisions of the FTA with the EU.
During the meeting, the parties touched upon the effective use of the EU budget support, which is provided to Ukraine to implement reforms in line with European standards.
Arbuzov and Füle discussed the development of the political situation in Ukraine and raised questions of the EU-Ukraine visa-free dialogue.
