Co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Marietta de Purba-Lundin and Mailis Reps arrived in Ukraine on Sunday and will stay until Tuesday, April 16, the press service of the PACE reported.
"Marietta de Purba-Lundin (Sweden) and Mailis Reps (Estonia), co-reporters of the PACE within the framework of duties and obligations of Ukraine, will visit the country from April14 to 16, 2013 in order to assess the constitutional reform, the reform of the Criminal Code and the prosecutor's office," the statement says.
The PACE co-rapporteurs will also verify the situation of prisoners of former officials in Ukraine.
In Kyiv, they will meet with President Viktor Yanukovych, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak, the ministers of justice and foreign affairs, the prosecutor general and members of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE.
In addition, the co-speakers plan to meet with the defenders of the ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, as well as with representatives of civil society.
