Ukraine will contribute to maintaining the role of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe as an important forum for the discussion of security issues, foreign minister of Ukraine, the OSCE chairperson-in-office Leonid Kozhara said before talks with his Russian colleague Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.

"Ukraine will support the issues of increasing the role of the OSCE as an important forum for discussion, including the most important issues - security issues. We will support the Helsinki + 40 process within the OSCE area,” Kozhara said.

According to him, Ukraine believes that the OSCE should discuss economic, ecological and humanitarian issues.

Kozhara added that Ukraine intends to hold a number of events related to the fight against human trafficking.

The minister noted that intends to discuss with Lavrov the full range of cooperation within the OSCE.

Kozhara also stressed that the Ukrainian party considers very important issues concerning the frozen conflicts, especially the Transnistrian conflict.

Ukraine’s foreign minister expressed confidence that Ukraine and Russia, as guarantors of the Transnistrian conflict settlement, have opportunities to advance the process of peaceful reconciliation.
