The beginning of the spring sowing campaign in Ukraine may be delayed for two to three weeks because of snow, director of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Mykola Kulbida told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to him, farmers will not be able to go into fields for sowing spring cereals for two to three weeks due to adverse weather conditions. "The delay can take from two to three weeks. This can provoke possible reduction in yield of 15 to 18%," Kulbida said.

He stressed, however, that if there are favorable conditions during the growing season of spring crops, these losses can be diminished.
