Ukraine is set to further strategic relationship with the United States and co-operation in all key areas of cooperation on the basis of the United States-Ukraine Charter on Strategic Partnership, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said during the meeting with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman, the President’s press service.

"Ukraine is set to further strategic relationship with the U.S. Our cooperation on the basis of the Charter on Strategic Partnership is the key to effective joint actions," Yanukovych said. According to him, Ukraine appreciates U.S. help in the development of our country in all fields, particularly in the country's democratization.

He also expressed the hope that in the near future foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara will meet with Secretary of State John Kerry.

"Such a contact between the leaders of foreign services is very important and, in our opinion, it will provide a new bilateral agenda," Yanukovych said.

He added that Ukraine’s OSCE chairmanship in this year is also one of the interesting aspects that could be included in the agenda of the bilateral meeting.
