The European Parliament is set to sign association agreement with Ukraine at the summit of "Eastern Partnership" in Vilnius in November. This is stated in the comments of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine on debates over situation in Ukraine, held in the European Parliament on March 13.
The Foreign Ministry notes that the debates became the third such discussion in the last ten months and showed a high attention of this influential European institution to our state.
"This constant attention of MEPs shows support of the European Parliament for European aspirations of the Ukrainian people. Accordingly, the European Parliament’s expectations are high," the statement says.
"A key outcome of the debate was the clear determination of the European Parliament to sign the association agreement with Ukraine at the summit of "Eastern Partnership" in Vilnius in November this year," the Foreign Ministry stressed.
The Ministry also stressed that special attention should be given to clear signals about the urgent need to bring together the efforts of opposition and the power for the European future of Ukraine and, in particular, the signing of a comprehensive bilateral document that, according to speakers, will provide real tools for the "development of Europe in Ukraine."
