During the official visit of the President of Latvia Mr. Andris Berzins to Ukraine on March 14-15, the Presidents of Ukraine and Latvia will discuss issue of Ukraine’s European integration, in particular, the preparation for the conclusion of the Association Agreement with the European Union and the possibility of further liberalization of the visa regime for Ukrainian citizens.

Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine Serhiy Liovochkin noted that on March 14 in Kyiv, the two leaders will hold bilateral talks and will take part in the Ukrainian-Latvian business forum.

Negotiations agenda also includes the issues of intensification of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, cooperation in fields of transport, energy, development of business contacts, and cultural ties between Ukraine and Latvia.

Liovochkin added that within the visit it is expected to sign a number of bilateral documents, including the Joint Statement of the Presidents of Ukraine and the Republic of Latvia, the agreement on the main areas of cooperation in field of consumer protection.

In the framework of the official visit to Ukraine, the President of Latvia will visit Odesa region, where he will take part in the Ukrainian-Latvian business forum, as well as get acquainted with the activities of the Odesa and Illichivsk seaports.

Mr. Berzins will visit Ukraine at the invitation of President Yanukovych.
