The collapse of the ceiling at the turbine room of Generating Unit No. 4 of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) did not influence safety at the NPP, experts have determined, Interfax informs.

The expert commissions that investigated the causes of the collapse said that it "did not cause any hazard to health and life, did not create danger to the environment, did not halt work of the facility and is not considered to be an accident."

On February 12, 2013, several concrete slabs fell from the ceiling in a turbine room at Chornobyl NPP. The site of the collapse was an area of 600 square meters.

The radiation levels did not change on the territory of the Chornobyl NPP and in the Exclusion Zone around it. No one was injured by the collapsed slabs.
