Ukraine wants to settle the Transdniestrian conflict during its OSCE chairmanship, foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara said during the National Expert Forum "Ukraine-2013. Forecast", ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the minister, "we will focus our best efforts on making progress in the Transdniestrian conflict settlement within the constant dialogue with Chisinau, Tiraspol, Moscow, and the other participants."

The official noted that "lack of activity in this area in previous years has resulted in reproach to Kyiv. Today we are attack-minded: my first visit at the post of OSCE chairperson-in-office was paid to this region. Soon, we’ll hold the meeting in Lviv in a renewed 5 +2 format.

"We need to move by small, but consistent steps. However, I would warn against unrealistic expectations. This conflict is rather chronic," the diplomat said.
