The EU and the Customs Union should endeavor to facilitate the trading rules, foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara said during the National Expert Forum "Ukraine-2013. Forecast," ForUm correspondent reports.

"I have a question – why do the EU and CU having a common border and a turnover of 446 billion USD not even begin to talk about the facilitation of trade? This is nonsense," the minister said.

He noted that the US-EU working group will report on the bilateral agreement on free trade and investment in February. "In addition, the European Commission starts to negotiate on free trade area with Japan, and the Customs Union holds similar negotiations with Vietnam and New Zealand," the official said.

According to Kozhara, "We strongly support a joint economic space between the EU and the Customs Union. Ukraine can easily find its place in such space."
