Arrival of the International Monetary Fund Mission in Ukraine is a good signal for investors and banking environment, advisor to the President of Ukraine - head of the Main Department of International Relations at the President’s Administration of Ukraine Andriy Honcharuk told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"It is too early to say about specific results. I think they will be after the work is completed ... In any case, this is a good signal for investors and banking environment. We will hope for some positive results of this work," he said.

Honcharuk also assured that a compromise in the issue of increase in gas prices for the population will be found.

Advisor to the President of Ukraine said that Ukraine is working on the possibility of gas cheapening. "Gas price may be lowered through appropriate modification of the arrangements with the Russian Federation, or by alternatives, including increasing production of its own gas. Then it will be easier to talk about the changes in the budget, the facilitation of the budget deficit, a more flexible policy on the gas price for the people," the official concluded.
