Constitutional reform should be an agreement between the people and the government, the first President of Ukraine, chairman of the Constitutional Assembly Leonid Kravchuk said during a public discussion: "The strategy of competition policy in Ukraine and a review of international experience", ForUm correspondent reports.

"We need to modernize the Constitution. It should be an agreement between the people and the government," Kravchuk said.

In his opinion, the Constitutional Assembly should move in the direction of openness and democracy.

"The Ukrainian government, which is being criticized, opens the door to opportunities. Those, who can realize these opportunities, use them and those, who cannot, continue criticizing," Kravchuk summed up.
