Ukraine is grateful to the Republic of Poland for the active and consistent support for the European integration course of our state, speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak said during the meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Henryk Litwin.
"Ukraine's strategic course towards European integration remains unchanged. European integration is especially systemic reform for us. - he said. - It's a long and hard way for the young Ukrainian democracy, and we hope for further help from the Polish side in implementing reforms in Ukraine, given the experience of Poland in this area".

According to Rybak, one of the key events in the dialogue with the European Union will be the 16th EU-Ukraine summit, to be held on February 25 of this year. "We hope that this Summit will bring us closer to the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. For Ukraine, the signing of the Association Agreement is the first priority. “We hope that the agreement will be signed without delay, immediately after the parties complete all the necessary technical procedures. We consider Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit in November this year to be the deadline for the signing of the Agreement," the speaker said.

Volodymyr Rybak expressed his hope that during the February summit, the parties will take a political decision on Ukraine's transition to the second phase of the Action Plan on visa liberalization with the EU.

"We are grateful to Poland for its active position on this issue and look forward to continued support. - he said. - We also expect the Polish side to support our proposal for making a joint appeal of the Parliaments of Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania in support of Ukraine's European choice and the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU following the tripartite meeting of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania".

Litwin, in his turn, assured that Poland "has always supported and will support Ukraine's European integration aspirations."

He expressed the hope that the Association Agreement will be signed this year. According to Litwin, Poland also considers process of introducing a visa-free regime with the EU Member States for Ukraine an important element of the integration.
