The authorities should make every effort to leave strong country to the future generations of Ukrainians, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said during the meeting with candidates for the post of chairmen of district state administrations, the President’s press service informs.
"I ask you to always be objective and fair towards the people. I ask you to protect our native land, and take care for the values, given us by our parents," he said, addressing the audience.
The President stressed that high post is not a reward, but, above all, a great burden of responsibility. "First of all, it is the responsibility before the people in the regions, where you will work," he said.
Yanukovych said that future chairmen of the district administrations should not be afraid of making mistakes in the work, but it is crucial to notice them, correct, and do not repeat. "I'll demand to be attentive to your work, to the point of view of people. These requirements will be strict," he said.
The President also called on officials to establish and maintain effective feedback to people, NGOs and representatives of various political forces.
