Effective modernization and implementation of the reforms in different spheres of the country is the only right way in the current difficult economic situation in the world, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said during the meeting with candidates for the post of chairmen of regional state administrations, the President’s press service informs.
"The path we have chosen, the modernization of our country, is the only successful way for improving the economy, and hence improving people's lives on its basis," he said.
Yanukovych said that the modernization changes in various sectors of the national economy are also caused by to the need to improve the competitiveness of domestic products in the world markets - as Ukraine is the country, which exports about 60% of the goods.
The President drew attention to the first positive results of the reforms. "Different rating agencies confirm that Ukraine is gradually improving its image as a country with a market economy," he said.
However, the President noted that there is much to be done in creation of conditions for development of small and medium businesses, improvement of the investment climate, facilitation of arrangements for the provision of administrative services.
"We set ourselves the task to move much faster. The work, which we started in 2010, should improve the lives of people," Yanukovych said.
