Jan 15, Ukrainian vice Prime Minister Kostyantyn Hryshchenko held a working meeting with Head of the State Service for Medicines Oleksiy Soloviov, the press office of the vice PM informs.

Soloviov informed Hryshchenko about the processing by the State Service for Medicines of applications for the certificates of good manufacturing practices (GMP).

According to the head of the State Service for Medicines, the Service has already issued the respective confirmations to 78 companies out of the 102 applications submitted for the receipt of GMP certification.
 
Hryshchenko highlighted the necessity to continue the work and complete consideration of applications from importers for the receipt of GMP certificates on time, by February 15, in accordance with the laws. “The provision of Ukrainians with high-quality medicines is a priority for the government. Accordingly, our steps should be directed to prevent the entry of counterfeit and substandard products on the Ukrainian market," Hryshchenko said.

In addition, Hryshchenko and Soloviov discussed the promising work streams of the State Service for Medicines.

The parties also discussed the priority of signing of the Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in the area of mutual recognition of the medicines inspection results for compliance with GMP.
