In 2011, meat production increased by 3.5% - to 3.02 million tons.
In addition, the number of cattle in Ukraine last year increased by 1.8% - up to 4 million 503.9 thousand heads.
In particular, the number of cows as of January 1, 2013, decreased by 0.8% - up to 2 million 560.7 thousand. The number of pigs increased by 1.9% - up to 7 million 515.8 thousand, heads of sheep and goats - by 0.5%, up to 1 million 747.6 thousand heads, poultry population - by 6.5%, to 213 million 853.9 thousand.
