Ukraine’s law enforcement officers are still operating in robust security regime, the press service of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine reports.
According to preliminary data, 68 public events involving more than 28 thousand citizens are scheduled for January 2.
On January 1, 425 public events took place in Ukraine. More than 200 thousand people took part in the events.
The largest number of people took part in festivities held in Dnipropetrovsk region (95 thousand people took part in 30 events), Cherkasy region (over 23 thousand people), Chernivtsi region (almost 22 thousand) and Kyiv region (over 17.300)
There have been no gross violations of public order during the mass events. Some 5.500 were policing the streets during these events.
