St. Nicholas Day has long been the symbol of generosity, compassion, and love to a neighbor, the congratulatory message of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych on the occasion of the holiday reads.
"Today, we address the Wonderworker, hoping for his grace and mercy, and the children wait for their patron to make dreams come true," the message, posted on the President’s official website, reads.
Yanukovych thanked all who show these qualities, especially for children without parental care and attention, and children with disabilities.
"Let the goodness and mercy bring us together for a happy future for our children and Ukraine," he said.
Yanukovych wished good health, happiness and spiritual grace.
