Heads of central banks of Ukraine and the Russian Federation signed the agreement on cooperation between the National Bank of Ukraine and the Central Bank of Russian Federation, the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine informs.
According to the Article 5 of the agreement, the Interbank advisory board of the central banks of Ukraine and Russia shall be formed.
According to the NBU press service statement, the main tasks of the Interbank advisory board are:
development of cooperation between the National Bank of Ukraine and the Central Bank of Russian Federation;
promotion of interaction between the banking system of Ukraine and the Russian Federation;
creation of favorable conditions for the expansion of national currencies in mutual trade calculations.
The next board meeting is to be held in the first half of 2013 in Kyiv.
