The main Christmas tree of the country will be ready by the end of this week, head of the main department of culture of the Kyiv City State Administration Svitlana Zorina told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to Zorina, the height of the Christmas tree will be less than last year, and the weight will be the same.
According to her, the trial lighting of the tree will be held on December 17, and on St. Nicholas Day (December 19. - Ed.), there will be the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree with the participation of the President of Ukraine.
The main Christmas tree of the country will stand till January 20, 2013.
In turn, head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov promised to monitor the reaction of Kyiv citizens regarding the new tree in social networks.
