The European Union hopes to cooperate with Ukraine during its presidency in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in 2013 (OSCE), high representative of the Union for foreign affairs and security policy Catherine Ashton said during a meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council, the press service of the European Union reports.
"We hope to cooperate with Ukraine in all OSCE dimensions, and, in particular, to help Ukraine to use its presidency to promote the settlement of the Transdniester conflict," Ashton said.
She considers the next three years to be a crucial period for the OSCE.
"We want to see that the OSCE remains a reliable support in building of security in Europe," she noted.
According to Ashton, the OSCE can count on the assistance of the EU.
