Cardiac Surgery Department should appear in all medical universities in Ukraine, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov promised during a meeting with health experts, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Cardiac Surgery Department should appear in all medical universities in Ukraine. It struck me that we have only 60 surgeons, 30 of them are in the Amosov Institute. We need to correct this situation. Training will take 2-3 years. This should be done immediately," the PM said.
In addition, during the meeting, he requested to consider amending the legislation to allow foreign doctors to operate in Ukraine.
Azarov also instructed to address the lack of angiographs in Chernivtsi, Sumy and Sevastopol in the first quarter of 2013.
