According to him, the new Code provides five types of preventive measures against a suspected person: a personal bail, personal recognizance, bail, house arrest and detention.
Melnyk said that house arrest would be one of the most effective preventive measures after the mechanisms are established to implement it. "This needs electronic tools to help control a person on its location and movement," he added.
In addition, Melnyk said that in connection with the entry into force of the new Code of Criminal Procedure there will be large-scale review of decisions in relation to those detained in pretrial detention centre. "It will be decided by the court," he added.
