Ukraine implements an energy plan with a view to full energy independence, deputy head of the power industry department of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Borys Sorkin said at the round table "Reforming of the electricity market in Ukraine," ForUm correspondent reports.
According to the official, the plan includes an increase in domestic and energy productions, as well as substitution of imported gas with domestic coal.
The specialist added that in 2013, the energy sector of the country will realize 10 major projects. 'We have already started to receive the electricity from coal. Establishment of plants for coal gasification has been initiated to improve the efficiency of its use as a fuel for power generation companies," Sorkin said.
