Sumy region received 17 million UAH from the state budget and 3.5 million UAH from the regional budget for the construction of regional perinatal center, head of the Sumy Regional Health Department Petro Pavlyuk informed.
"We have already got the means to purchase medical equipment. Now the last organizational issues are being decided. The construction will begin in the near future," he said.
According to Pavlyuk, a perinatal center, which will be built on the base of the regional center for obstetrics and gynecology, will be put into operation in 2014, and one of the buildings with the maternity ward and 10 delivery rooms is planned to be put into operation by the end of this year.
