Autumn sowing campaign in Ukraine is almost over, the winter crops were sowed in the proper conditions. In case of good winter gives reason for expecting a high yield, agrarian policy minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk told a briefing on Thursday.

"Sowing is almost over, it remains about 50 hectares before scheduled forecast - in Crimea and Odesa," Prysiazhniuk said.

He noted that sowing in Crimea and Odesa was delayed due to low rainfall.
"The forecast (of winter crops - Ed.) is carried out on the area of 300 hectares more than it was last year. This suggests that the grain group is attractive to farmers. God willing, if winter is calm, we’ll have a pretty good yield of grain next year," Prysiazhniuk said.

He noted that this year in Ukraine people for the first time have begun to insure risks of crops damage due to adverse weather conditions in winter.
