Former State Security Major Mykola Melnychenko, put on wanted list, was detained at the Boryspil airport, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) press office informs.
"On October 24, the SBU officers jointly with the State Border Service of Ukraine, by order of Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv, detained wanted Ukrainian citizen Melnychenko at the Boryspil airport," the statement reads.
The SBU spokesman reminded that the Main Investigation Department of the SBU on behalf of the General Prosecutor's Office is investigating a criminal case against Melnychenko into offenses under Part 2 of the Article 328 (disclosure of state secrets), Part 1 of the Article 358 (forgery) and Part 3 of the Article 365 (abuse of power).
