In Ukraine, housing service charges will not rise after the election, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said during the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

The Prime Minister reminded that the gas price for population has remained unchanged for the last 25 months, and the electricity tariffs – for 17 months.

"The increase covered only categories of citizens with high incomes, who consume large amounts of electricity and gas. For example, citizens who consume more than 800 Wh are to pay according to the tariff, which is almost 2 times more than the consumers’ tariff of up to 150 Wh," he gave the example.

"In the middle of 2010, we lowered the bar of housing subsidies: up to 15% - for the families of able-bodied citizens and to 10% for the unworkable and retirees. It is our policy that we stand for in the negotiations with the IMF," the Prime Minister said.
