The process of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement signing will be activated after the parliamentary election, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said to journalists after the Ukrainian-Polish negotiations, ForUm learned from the President’s press service.

"I hope that after our election, the process of signing the Association Agreement will start," Yanukovych said. He emphasized that our country will continue its course of European integration, as it is a single option for Ukraine.

The President stressed that Ukraine will continue adapting its legislation to European standards.
"The continuation of reforms in Ukraine, becoming closer to European standards is our homework, which we will do to improve our economy, our technical standards, our human rights standards," Yanukovych said.

Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, in turn, stressed that Poland wants to continue assisting Ukraine in strengthening its democratic standards and implementation of European aspirations.
"We will observe the parliamentary election in Ukraine with special attention and we expect that compliance with all democratic standards during the election will pave the way for the Association Agreement signing and ratification," he said.
