Ukraine introduces vehicle recycling tax on Russian cars

Ukraine introduced vehicle recycling tax on Russian cars and buses, decree of the Cabinet of Ministers № 843 dated September 3, published today, says.

"Physical and legal entities who import for free circulation vehicles and bodies for vehicles from the Russian Federation are obliged independently and in accordance with the legislation to ensure further procurement and disposal of waste or to conclude agreements on the implementation of the work on organizing their procurement and disposal, taking into account the marginal prices, approved by this resolution," the document says.

 

In particular, for cars with engine capacity of 1.000 – 2.000 cubic centimeters such price is 7370 UAH, with engine capacity of 2.000 – 3.000 cubic centimeters – 14.080 UAH, with engine capacity of 3.000 – 3.500 cubic centimeters – 19.085 UAH, with engine capacity of more than 3.500 cubic meters- 30.250 UAH.

If a car is produced more than three years ago, the rate increases 6.2-6.4 times, and for cars with engine capacity of 3.000 – 3.500 cubic centimeters - 8.2 times.

For vehicles designed for the transportation of ten persons, cargo, special purpose vehicles and vehicle bodies for vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of up to 2.500 kg, such price is 19.000 UAH, with a gross vehicle weight of 2.500 – 3.500 – 30.400 UAH, with a gross vehicle weight 3.500 – 5.000 kg – 38.000 UAH, with a gross vehicle weight of 5.000 – 8.000 kg – 41.800 UAH, with a gross vehicle weight of 8.000 – 12.000 kg – 50.920 UAH, with a gross vehicle weight 12.000 – 20.000 kg – 55.860 UAH, with a gross vehicle weight of more than 20.000 kg – 110.200 UAH.
