The Ukrainian government will recalculate pensions for citizens who retired before 2008, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The government will recalculate pensions for citizens who retired before 2008, increasing co-payments to the pensions for the families of deceased disabled veterans and increasing co-payments to pensions for war veterans," he said.
Moreover, the PM promised to "modernize" recourse pensions for disabled people in the workplace. "In 2013, we will continue increasing pensions for militaries, overhead personnel and soldiers, who left the service. This year, the average increase was 20%. Starting from January 1 2013, the average pension for soldiers will be increased by 10.5%, the draft budget allocates 6 billion UAH for that," Azarov said.
According to him, more than 23 billion UAH are provided for the implementation of social initiatives of the President in pension field.
