Ukraine should revise the Articles 365 and 366 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the Council of Europe's Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"It is not enough just to adopt the Code of Criminal Procedure, it is necessary to move towards its implementation and bring laws in accordance with the European ones. Having the Tymoshenko’s case in mind, it is necessary to look at the Code and to revise the Articles 365 and 366," he said.

Jagland also emphasized that the Council of Europe members have "different views on gas contracts". "The adoption of the Code of Criminal Procedure proves that the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine is efficient. The Code contains most of the recommendations given by the Council of Europe," he said.
