The development of strategic relationship with China is one of the priorities of the foreign policy of our country, President Viktor Yanukovych said during the meeting with deputy chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Chen Zhili, the President’s press service informs.
Yanukovych noted substantial intensification of the Ukrainian-Chinese relations over the past two years. According to him, Ukraine is interested in further effective development of these relations at the higher and the highest levels.
"I think the key overall objective at this stage is the creation of effective tools to implement specific projects in all areas of mutual interest," Yanukovych said, reminding that this year the countries mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The President also thanked the Chinese party, the Soong Ching Ling China Charity Foundation in particular, for comprehensive assistance in the project on health improvement of 200 Ukrainian children in China in August 2012.
