The Federal Agency for Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Residing Abroad and International Humanitarian Co-Operation of the Russian Federation claims that more than 80 documents, undermining the positions of the Russian language, have been adopted in Ukraine.

"In recent years, Ukraine has approved more than 80 acts, which to some extent contradict the Constitution of Ukraine, thereby undermine the positions of the Russian language and therefore violate the rights of Russian compatriots," said the head of the Federal Agency department in Ukraine Konstantin Vorobyov said at the department’s meeting.

According to him, the issue of the Russian language in Ukraine has turned into ideological problem out of a political one.

"The recently adopted law on the national language policy is likely to face serious obstacles in terms of its implementation," he said.

In addition, Vorobyov said that according to his data, not less than 70% of Ukrainian citizens prefer to use Russian at home and at work.

According to him, Russia should substantially increase support for the Russian language in Ukraine.
He stressed that humanitarian cooperation with Ukraine is a priority of the Federal Agency for Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Residing Abroad and International Humanitarian Co-Operation of the Russian Federation.
