The Security Service of Ukraine questioned Fatherland Party MP Mykhailo Sokolov during investigation into the explosions in Dnipropetrovsk, head of the Main Investigation Department of the SSU Ivan Derevyanko told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"One of the accused is a professional political analyst, who worked in the election campaign of the MP of Ukraine Mykhailo Sokolov, who was running from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc. Another of the accused is an IT-technologies specialist. He encrypted e-mails demanding money from the local government," Derevyanko said.

Derevyanko said that the defendants wanted to receive 4.5 million USD.
According to the head of the Main Investigation Department of the SSU, as a result of investigation, the officers managed to reveal e-mail correspondence of terrorists, which contributed to their arrest. In particular, one was arrested in a Dnipropetrovsk cafe, while sending one of these letters.

"The investigators have no doubt that the defendants were involved in the bombings in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia. During the investigative experiment they told in details and showed how they had produced explosives, and where they had laid them," said Derevyanko said.
