Energy and coal industry minister of Ukraine Yuri Boiko and the CEO of the Gazprom OAO Russian gas company Alexei Miller discussed the issues of ensuring uninterrupted transit of Russian gas to Europe in the coming autumn and winter by the Naftogaz Ukraine gas company.
The meeting was held on August 22 at the headquarters of the Russian company in Moscow.
"The parties discussed preparations for the upcoming autumn and winter period, in particular, the issues of ensuring of the uninterrupted Gazprom gas transit to Europe by the Naftogaz. In this regard, the rates of completion of the Ukrainian underground storage facilities by the Naftogaz have been analyzed," the statement of the Gazprom press service says.
In June 2012, the Gazprom gave the Naftogaz of Ukraine an advance of $ 2 billion for the transit of gas, having provided Ukraine with working capital for the gas purchase for its pumping into underground storage facilities.
