The State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine rules out the prison transfer of the former interior minister Yuri Lutsenko from the Lukianivka jail (Kyiv) to the colony until September 1, deputy chairman of the Service Ihor Andrushko said.
"On August 17, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv delivered the sentence. The procedure gives 15-day period for a possible appeal. An appeal is likely to be prepared, so there will be no transfers until August 30-31. Then we’ll be guided by circumstances," he said.
According to Andrushko, it is possible that in case of lodging an appeal, Lutsenko may stay in the Lukianivka jail until it is considered by the court.
