One of the main objectives of the Emergencies Ministry of Ukraine is fire protection for grain fields, deputy emergencies ministry Vitaliy But told a briefing in the Cabinet, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Since the beginning of harvest time of this year, there have been thirteen fires on grain fields (compared to eight in 2011), two fires - in the places of storage and processing of grain, three - in feed storages," But said.
According to him, the fire quickly spread on the fields and reach a large area.
"The largest number of fires occurred on grain fields were in Cherkasy region - three, Poltava, Chernihiv, Chernivtsi regions – two in each and in Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, and Rivne regions – one in each," the deputy minister said.
