The police officers detained a suspect of the message of false mining of the Boryspil Airport, spokesman of the Kyiv region Internal Ministry department Mykola Zhukovych told ForUm.

"An unknown man called the Kyiv police and said that the Boryspil Airport is mined, then he phoned off. He made two such calls – at 2.06 p.m. and 2.14 p.m., but from different places and different telephone sets," he said.

Zhukovych said that after that the law enforcement officers, doctors and the emergencies units went to the airport. "There was the evacuation of passengers from B, C and F Terminals. About five thousand people were evacuated," the spokesman said.

He also said that the police also managed to quickly detain the suspect of the message of the false mining. "He is a resident of Kyiv, born in 1983, registered in a psycho dispensary. A criminal proceeding will be initiated against him, however he is likely to be sent for compulsory treatment for several years. The court will decide," he stressed.
