Prosecutor General's Office asks Superior Specialized Civil and Criminal Court to leave unchanged the sentence of ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko on the gas case, prosecutor on this case Oksana Drohobytska said.

"I ask to dismiss the previous court decision," she said.

During the speech that lasted nearly two hours, the prosecutor noted that for signing gas contracts, Tymoshenko was an official, in other words, a subject of the crime according to the Criminal Code.
The prosecutor noted that Tymoshenko personally approved and provided the chairman of "Naftogaz of Ukraine" Oleh Dubina with written directive for making agreement with "Gazprom", although she did not have the right.

She said that the actions of Tymoshenko led to serious consequences and losses for "Naftogaz".

In addition, Drohobytska noted that Tymoshenko and her defenders obstructed constantly the investigation of the case and delayed deliberately the court proceedings.

Drohobytska asked the Supreme Specialized Court to dismiss the cassational appeal of Tymoshenko’s defender Oleksandr Plakhotnuk on the gas case verdict.
