The Independent Association of Ukrainian Banks is preparing "blacklists" of borrowers, appraisers and state enforcement officers, the acting chairman of the Independent Association of Ukrainian Banks Olena Yefremova said during a press conference "Careless borrowers-deputies", ForUm correspondent reports.

In particular, she noted that the formation of such lists is caused by the scale of the problem of non-repayment of debt.

"The Association cannot and does not want to stay away from the solution of the problem of careless debtors, and is preparing" blacklists "of borrowers, appraisers and state enforcement officers who cause great damage to the banking sector through their wrongful acts," Yefremova said.

The acting chairman of the Independent Association of Ukrainian Banks emphasized that the lists will be made public. "We are preparing to popularize the lists of these "heroes", even though we fully understand all risks. But such anti-heroes are harmful not only to banks but also to scrupulous borrowers who have to pay for the risks for themselves and for careless borrowers," the banker said.

In turn, the chairman of the committee on creditors’ rights protection of the Independent Association of Ukrainian Banks Roman Shpek explained that several banks applied to the Association. "After receiving these complaints, there was held a discussion. It was decided to create such lists in strict accordance with the laws, without revealing bank secrecy," he said.

According to Shpek, this list may be published in November this year.
