As of today a solid foundation to redefine the intergovernmental dialogue between Ukraine and Kazakhstan at the qualitatively new level of partnership, particularly in the economic sphere was formed, the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said in his congratulation message to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishing diplomatic relations between the countries.
"On behalf of the people of Ukraine and me personally, please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishing diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Kazakhstan," the message on the official website of the Head of State said.
Yanukovych noted almost fivefold increase in bilateral trade over the past decade, the strengthening of mutually beneficial relations in the field of mechanical engineering, the advanced cooperation in the aerospace industry, nuclear energy and military-technical cooperation.
"Ukraine and Kazakhstan are in accord on most pressing issues of the modern world, which gives us the opportunity to combine interests in the development and further promotion of joint initiatives, including international organizations," the congratulation text said.
The President is convinced that the joint efforts on the deepening bilateral cooperation will contribute to the effective modernization of Ukraine and Kazakhstan, strengthening their international positions and raise the living standards of citizens of both states.
