On July 18, 2012, the Cabinet of Ministers considered at its meeting the draft law of Ukraine on amendments to the law of Ukraine on the prohibition of privatization, alienation, pawning and application for the authorized capital of economic entities of all forms of ownership of shares owned by the state in the authorized capital of the Closed joint Stock Company "Odesa film studio", ForUm learned from the Culture Ministry press service.

The draft law was developed by the Culture Ministry of Ukraine pursuant to instructions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated February 18, 2011. The Cabinet had instructed to develop a draft law of Ukraine on amendments to certain legislative acts on ensuring conditions for the restoration of the Ukrainian cinematography.

On February 18, 2010, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law of Ukraine on amendments to the law of Ukraine on cinematography and other laws of Ukraine concerning support for the production of national films, which introduces protectionism in national films production starting from picture-making to movie screening for a period of 5 years, and amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine.

These standards should provide the conditions for recovery Ukrainian cinema. Thus, the adoption of the law on amendments to certain legislative acts on ensuring conditions for the restoration of the Ukrainian cinematography had lost its relevance.

The adoption of the proposed draft law is to avoid controversy and to contribute to improving the legal framework in the field of cinematography
