Today, on July 17, the foreign minister of Ukraine Konstantyn Hryshchenko has started the official visit to China.

As the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports, within the visit to Beijing the foreign minister of Ukraine has met with a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Ho Gotsyanom and held negotiations with his colleague, the foreign minister Yang Jiechi.

"The representative of China's top government has expressed his satisfaction with the current state and dynamics of development of the Ukrainian-Chinese relations," the statement says.

The parties also exchanged views on the political dialogue and cooperation at the interparliamentary and regional levels, as well as practical cooperation in the financial, investment, infrastructure, agricultural, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

The parties also discussed the visiting schedule of high officials in the near future and confirmed the continuation of the political dialogue between Ukraine and China.

The parties thoroughly analyzed the agreements’ implementation reached during the visit of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to China in September 2010 and the visit of the President of the People's Republic of China Hu Jintao to Ukraine in June 2011.

A special attention was also paid to the following key components of the Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation, as trade, investment, finances, credit and infrastructure, as well as cooperation in scientific, technological, cultural and humanitarian fields.

Hryshchenko invited his Chinese college to visit Ukraine in order to maintain the intensity of bilateral contacts. The invitation was accepted with gratitude.

Following the meeting the heads of foreign ministries of Ukraine and China signed the plan of consultations between the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine and the Foreign Ministry of the People's Republic of China for the period 2012-2013.
